Jay, do you mean to say that you are looking at having 400 serverside
programs invoke AWT GUI classes?  If so, there are some steps you must
follow to use the AS/400's Remote AWT functions (i.e. start a client side
daemon).  Have you looked into these?  There is stuff to do on both client
and server sides.
