You can use DSPLOG to see if the system was IPLed or if PTF activity took
place.  Perhaps simpler would be GO LICPGM and use option 50 which will
automatically subset DSPLOG to show just messages related to program product
installation and PTF activity.

I installed PTFs Friday during the day which applied when the system IPLed
Sunday night.  The following is the display I got from option 50.  You can
put the cursor on a message and press F1 to see the date and time and second
level text.

                          Display History Log Contents
 
 PTF installation process started.
 Loading of PTFs started.
 Loading of PTFs completed successfully.
 Marking of PTFs for delayed application started.
 Marking of PTFs for delayed application completed successfully.
 PTFs installed successfully.
 Apply PTF started.
 Applying of PTFs for product 5769999 completed successfully.
 Applying of PTFs for product 5769SS1 completed successfully.
 Applying of PTFs for product 5769DG1 completed successfully.
 Applying of PTFs for product 5769JV1 completed successfully.
 Applying of PTFs completed.
