Title: Websphere and Java server - Business objects cache

Hi,

I'm making some tests on the Websphere 2.02 Standard Edition.

I have a servlet which get "Account" objects from an as400 database, and then call a method to
evaluate the assets of this account (this method call a stored procedure on the as400).

As a result of the evaluation, a given number of other business objects are also loaded in memory (like
Currency objects)

I would like to cache these objects (the currencies), so that when another servlets needs to access
the currencies it does not need to load it again from the database.

I'm afraid that this new servlet will run on a separate memory space, and will not see my cache (filled
by the previous servlet).

Is this idea correct or wrong?

If it is correct do you know how i can launch a little server which will be visible by all the instance of
servlets?

This kind of thing is already possible for a connection pool. Where can i find the technic to do the same
with a cache of business objects?

Thanks

Gilles Ducret
