Hi,

"Hello world" level.

This class prints the actual date properly:

import java.util.Date;
class $$Date {
   public static void main(String args[]) {
   Date d1 = new Date();
   System.out.println("La data è:" + d1);
   }
}

If I try to set the date this way:

import java.util.Date;
class $$Date {
   public static void main(String args[]) {
   Date d1 = new Date(99, 9, 13);
   System.out.println("La data è:" + d1);
   }
}

I report such error message: "The constructor called to create java.util.Date
using arguments (int, int, int) is damaged"

I tried to reinstall the VA 2.0 Prof.Ed. CD with the encluded service pack, but
result is unchanged.

Any help appreciated.

Gaiardi, I have a feeling the problem may be in translation. The (int, int,
int) constructor for Date() is not "damaged", it is "deprecated", which means it
may not be supported in future releases. You are supposed to use the Calendar
object instead. Go to the following URL to find out more about it:

http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/docs/api/java/util/Date.html#constructor_summary
