We are using thin clients (browsers) with NO applets on the client side.  On
the server side, we use servlets and jsp's.  Database access is from the
servlet using jdbc calls.  Although we use the as/400 as the server, there
is nothing platform-specific in the application.  We can (and do) run on
other server platforms.
