If you don't want to run your Java program with a DOS console, use JAVAW or
JREW instead of JAVA or JRE. These commands launch the Java interpreter
without the console. You could then make a Windows shortcut that calls JAVAW
directly.

You can also put your application into a JAR file that can be run just by
clicking on it. Unfortunately, that's beyond the scope of this document. :)
