  • Subject: Loading JDBC Drivers onto the AS/400
  • From: Y2KDBGR@xxxxxxx

I was able to install the Toolkit and Development kit. I was not able to
download the JDK 1.1.6 or the swing classes because we do not have Internet
access and we do not have a zip drive for me to bring it into work from home.
I purchases my own Standard copy of Visual J++ 6.0 and that incorporated the
zip file that I copied to my PC jt400.zip.

My problem is I started the JDBC driver on the AS400 with driver something
like ->
com.ibm.db2.something            but my program uses
com.ibm.as400.access.JDBCDriverManager or something like that. Am I wasting
my time trying to make a connection using the com.ibm.as400 classes? How do I
get the com.ibm.db2 classes are they included in the swing classes or on the
JDK that I downloaded but was unable to install?

Thank you, Dan Conte
