It could be that in the newest builds of STProxy that this has been fixed.

If I go to my Sametime 9 (as in Nine) proxy server using a PC browser it
seems to work.
If I go to it using my Chat client on my Android it works.
If I go to it using a web browser on my Android it works but it displays
"Lotus Sametime 8.5"
That might have been something that slipped through testing; is updating
the html displayed to a mobile web browser client.

Granted, not something one would normally do, (unless perhaps debugging
why your sametime wifi works at one of your corporate locations but not
another while either location can connect if they turn off wifi).

But it does get one second guessing as to whether or not you're pointing
to the right server.
