Re: DST and DWA - problem with DWA after making changes to Forms6.nsf

How's this for an odd issue with DWA and 702FP1. I posted it to devWorks 
yesterday:

I just opened a PMR regarding this issue that we just started having. Is 
anyone else having the same issue?

I upgraded from Domino 7.0.2 to 7.0.2FP1 this past weekend. And emails 
received in DWA with a link created by body.AppendDocLink will not open to 
the proper location. I even tested code in another database. One example 
of the URL for a doclink is:  

http://my.comporium.com/redir.nsf?Redirect&To=%3FOpen&Name=CN%3DHQAPP01%
2FO%3DCOMPORIUM&Id=85256E3C0053E7E3" 

If I remove the trailing " then it will proceed to open the database. 
Otherwise it gives me an HTTP 500 error when clicking the doclink. In 
another test from the same code in a different database, I get the 
following URL: 

http://my.comporium.com/redir.nsf?Redirect&To=%3FOpen&Name=CN%3DHQAPP01%
2FO%3DCOMPORIUM&Id=85257226006BAF68"H 

If I take the trailing "H off from the end it works fine.

It turns out that over the weekend they updated the related hotfix to
include 6.5.4fp1 as a supported release... yep... a work in progress!

I'm happy to report that using the new Forms6.nsf file provided in the
hotfix resolved the issue on both our servers.

Yep... this is all obviously a work in progress still!   I've got DWA
working again on 1 of 2 clustered servers by restoring my old Forms6.nsf
from tape and now need to fix the other one.  Support is going to work 

more

on reproducing the issue to find out the real problem before we retry 

the

operation.

Maybe we should hang back and wait for the suggestions to stabilize, 

huh?

We're seeing some major client issues here after following IBM's 

procedure

to make sure the client notes.ini setting of UseNotesTimeZone=0 is set.
After being on the phone with support for 2 hours this am, I was 

informed

that NOW, IBM is recommending that this setting NOT be in the notes.ini 

at

all because they have hear that it can cause client crashes!!

Turns out that our automatic diagnostic collection for clients is the
fatal thread when the client will not open. So far our best avenue to 

keep

from completely uninstalling the client is to rename the old names.nsf,
remove all but the first 4 lines of the notes.ini, open Notes to run the
setup, and then copy/paste the People and Groups back into the new
names...

I think that's what most people ran into, but this is after all the

patches

and is more of a show stopper.  This problem is preventing the page

from

even presenting anything at all (not just showing the DST problems).

The

tech said that he could reproduce it when testing with the 

Forms6.nsf

Yes, I have done this.

Afterward, we, too, had issues, but the latest Windows XP patch 

fixed

all

of the issues.
