So far I've upgraded
1 dpar on 1 lpar
and 2 dpar's on another lpar
to the 8.310-1002 engine with no problems.  Even ran
load SMDupd
and got the latest updates.  Did NOT try a load SMDupd on both dpar's on 
the 1 lpar at the same time.  I'd say that potential issue of simultaneous 
updates whacking the process is a different issue and I don't want to 
complicate things until everything settles a little.
Now I've got 
 7 of 11 dpars on another lpar running trend to go
7 of 9 dpars on yet another lpar running trend to go also.
I like to gradually wean it in.
