No worries. When you have been through it, sometimes a brief explanation

Very cool. I wasn't trying to be argumentative, just pushing for
clarification for his sake (and mine).

Re: Migration across Domains

Assumption is that you would not use the AdminP move function. You would
need to do this manually or build an application (which we did) to manage
the work.
1) Creating replica stubs on the destined server so that a connection doc
between them will rep the data.
2) Send the users an email with a button to update their clients.
3) Re-cert them in the new Domain once they have been migrated.

Technically, you can manually get the replica stubs over and send the
users a procedure doc to follow. Again, it does work, we migrated 23K
users from one domain to another this way and they kept all their mail,
groups, access, etc. without issue.

Regards,
Eric

I think the question is how will he move the clients if the two domains do

not have an adminp in common. With one server and one domain, I don't
know much about the move function.

Re: Migration across Domains

You will have to work out the details but here is the concept that worked
quite well for us on a x-domain migration.

1) copy the person docs from A to B along with needed certificates
2) copy desired groups if any
3) rep the mail files
4) move the clients
5) you know have said Domain A users on Domain B
6) rename in Domain A users to Domain B format

You protect all mail, etc.

Migration across Domains

Has anyone ever had to migrate a user from a server in one domain to
another domain that do not share a common adminp database. Basically, two
separate subsidiaries that each maintain their own environment. Any
feedback would be a great help.
Thanks,
