It sounds like you are OK. If you are under license for a current Domino 
server, you can already run multiple partitions on the same machine. 
However, if you wanted to run Instant Messaging on its own server (single 
partition) you would be licensed to the Domino server as long as it was 
only used to serve instant messaging.

Hi Tom,

I thought I read that you should put Sametime on its own Domino partition.

We have a Domino partition for mail and apps etc which we pay a license 
fee for and we have another Domino partition which has just Sametime 
installed which we only use for IM.

So what you are saying is, we would only pay for 1 Domino server and any 
IM clients that used the proper IM client plus obviously all our Notes 
clients.
