Don't know.  We do it differently here.  There may be people with iSeries 
access but no Notes; and vice versa.  And there may be people with 
literally a dozen iSeries signon's.

I'm going to have to check with the person who set up the directory sync.
As I remember, the idea was that if we set up a  user on the AS/400, they
would automatically be created in Domino. Is there another way to
accomplish this (can you tell I'm new at this :-)?
