On a DSD running our Domino based website I did a DSPSFWRSC and noticed:

Resource
   ID Option Feature Description
5769AS1 *BASE 5050 IBM WebSphere Application Server

Resource Feature
ID Option Feature Type Library Release
5769AS1 *BASE 5050 *CODE QAPPSVR V4R5M0

As far as I know, we are not using that particular product. And my boss'
reply was (Sametime conversation)
Rob Berendt/DE... While f@xxxxx around with GDWEB, do you want me to
remove the old WAS?
Chris Edwards/... If we are not using it for anything, then let's
remove it.
Rob Berendt/D... Oh sure, dump on me with the "if". Are we using
it for anything?
Chris Edwards/... I can't think of anything unless FTP or Domino
uses it

Now, on some of our other servers we are "playing" around with WAS. But
in that case we are running
5722IWE 2 5102 IBM WebSphere Application Server Express V5

So I think we loaded it on there at some time just in case.

Is this required for Domino in any manner that you can think of?

I know that FTP does not require it.
