Very good list of facts. Especially the one about still wanting to use
SNDDST to send email from native AS/400 programs.

There are a couple of ways to configure Domino email: Native Domino or
native 400. In your case, you'll want to use native 400. We went with
native Domino. But since we are combining our Domino 400 with our primary
400 then we'll probably switch back. (Going to be the biggest 400 in
Indiana.)

Hello,

I've been the administrator for a Domino server (5.0.8) on an AS/400
(4.5.0) for a year. Now they have added a DSL connection to the LAN
and want to move all their email to Domino. What I haven't been able
to find is all the details of how to add this. The AS/400 is setup
with its private address, DNS addresses, and gateway address to the
firewall.

If someone has a detailed (complete paths to each setting) check list
I would appreciate seeing it. If not, the pointers to where this is
hiding in the books (Red or Yellow) would be appreciated and I would
be willing to submit the check list I develop (limited I can bet) for
the Midrange FAQ and public extension. I am also wanting to make sure
their email address is in the form of shortuser@name.org instead of
the longer versions that Domino seems to prefer. The ability to send
an email (SNDDST) from the native AS400 programs will probably be a
near future need.

BTW has anyone set a firewall (Sonic) to use a single NAT address but
have JUST incoming SMTP traffic go to the AS/400-Domino? I know that
the ISP will have to assign a static IP and setup the DNS MX entries
to point to it.

Thanks

Roger Vicker, CCP
