Re: Indy's Big Week in the spotlight.

Drunks on a zipline...
Watch Full Throttle Saloon on Wednesday nights...

They just reported this morning that the speedway is exploring the idea. ;-)

a few post scripts:

every year, the NFL provides a million in matching funds to improve a
depressed area of the host city - an initiative called 'the legacy
project'. We were the first city to have our legacy project done
before the super bowl, and our host committee's initiative actually
cobbled together a package of $150 million in local, state and
corporate funds and private development money to completely transform
a whole neighborhood on the near east side.

The national reviews are coming in and it's not just good, but
spectacular, to the point most are hoping for another one here soon.

In fact, we did such a good job on the immediate downtown area, no one
wanted to leave. There are several areas of the city with arts,
entertainment, nightlife and restaurants that stocked up and staffed
up hoping to catch the run off - Broad Ripple, Fountain Square, Mass
Ave, but only Mass Ave (which is less than a mile from the village)
saw much of an increase from normal traffic, and only the final
weekend.

A big reason for that is that the weather was so good, no one cared
that they couldn't get in to the downtown restaurants and bars - they
were happy just to hang out downtown. If it were colder, more would
have taken advantage of the free shuttles to those other areas.

but most of that overstock will go to needy families.

Take a bow Indy!
