Ah, the fevered swamps of your imagination are a wonder to behold.

I agree with most of what you say. I had forgotten there were two
hostage ransom events.. mea culpa. I had blamed Reagan for paying
ransom for hostages just the once, and I was very wrong. He did it twice.

Iran contra had nothing to do with the 1981-83 hostage crisis, which
was what you were talking about when you suggested Reagan paid a
ransom for the hostages but had them wait till after the election (his

I know you're old, but you should still remember the sequence of
supposed events - when you spread hoaxes, misinformation and lies like
that, you should at least have the talking points down.

Perhaps you have a an alternative view?
But you are right. I had forgotten that Reagan gave in to ransom demands
two times. I remembered just the one incident, and as you point out, he
actually did it twice.

Iran contra was not about the hostage crisis. They were two separate
and distinct things.

Lets see if I understand you. Ronald Reagan is a hero because he got
the hostages home by paying ransom demands. Not only did he pay their
ransom demands, but he negotiated that the hostages _not_ be released
until after he won the election.
But any one else who does it is a weenie?
Is that pretty much the Paul's Situational Ethics on this matter?

So you believe America should just pay ransom demands?

No, Booth. Charlie Wilson was wrong. Not Reagan.
