I stand corrected three violas. My son and two little girls.

Sorry Emily. Its an old joke.

Cellos are superior because they are larger and therefore burn longer.

Not superior, I just wonder if that combination of instruments will
impact the sound with no bass, and that many violins. I'd also think
the sole cellist would be feeling a bit pressured.

Why is a cello superior to a violin?

My girls (17 and 14) started off in chorus. I always enjoyed the
concerts. My oldest stuck with it through middle school, even joining
honors choir and the girls ensemble. She decided to focus on visual
arts when she started high school. My 14 year old dropped chorus
after 6th grade for the same reason. It's been nice to see their
talents develop in that area, but I do miss the concerts.

The good news is that I get to watch my ten year old in his first
orchestra concert in about a week. That should be interesting to
watch, as the fifth grade orchestra this year consists of two violas,
one cello, and six violins.
