The relative anonymity of this list makes it very easy for people to trash
talk and write things they wouldn't dream of saying to someone in person
without fear of being punched in the face...

This is true. I think I'm much more direct on this list about things than I
would be in person. What I write on this list tends to be the things that
are inside my head but I never actually speak. Usually I find a much nicer
way of saying things in person. :)
