Re: Obama comes to Texas

Rich,

There was some dispute as to whether it was the anthem or the pledge. It was
reported as being The Pledge, to which you are supposed to put your hand
over your heart (whether you like the "ritual" or not). Obama later said
(in
response to that actual photo) that it was the Anthem and not The Pledge.
Others who were there still maintain it was The Pledge. Interestingly,
there
has been no comment either way from the others who were actually on the
stage with him.

Well your right wing friends are misinformed, again. It was the National
Anthem as Obama said, and there is video to prove it.

All that is obvious if you watch and listen to the actual video. That's why
I said it should be kept in context. I think it is more telling that his
staff and the TV crew are so comfortable with him that they can joke
around
like that.

Again, what are YOU trying to say "intent" was?

I'm not saying his intent is anything other than as you describe. He was
joking around by flipping someone off, I get it. This is exactly why I
posted that picture in response to the "a picture is worth a thousand words"
comment in reference to Obama. You can take a still picture, add a caption
and make it seem much worse than it is (as is the case with both of those
photos). Obama wasn't being unpatriotic anymore than Bush was seriously
flipping someone off.

Of course, I find Bush's giving the bird about as humorous as you think
Obama is unpatriotic by not putting his hand over his heart during the
anthem. :)
