Gerald, you never support your allegations, and man, you make some
whoppers!
Why would anyone believe anything you say? You never back it up.

Which is, of course, another Limbaugh lie.

Are you saying the US foreign policy should be, "we will wait until
your
country has free, fair and open elections, and then we may establish
relations with you, we may even call you an 'ally'"
I don't think even Jimmy Carter would go that far....
Maybe he should. Selling advanced weapons to dictators doesn't seem
like the best way to bring democracy to the oppressed. If you saw a
man beating his wife on the street, in the open, making no excuses
for
it and he asked for heavier weaponry so he could defend freedom from
guys who are worse than him, would you sell him your excess?
I wouldn't. If I were President of the United States, I'd
immediately
break relations with all dictatorships. The United States should
help
good people, not bad ones. The argument that they aren't the worst
of
the worst seems little consolation to the dead and wounded who fought
to bring democracy to people they couldn't even understand.
Put another way, when everybody except for North Korea is an ally,
doesn't that devalue the meaning and value of an alliance with us?
Why wouldn't we want to support democracies and not support
dictators?
I don't mean bomb them, just ignore them. Trade with them, but not
on favored nation terms. When they are nice to their people, we'll
be
nice to them.
