Wow, be safe all of our buddies in the UK !

Well, last week I was working in Norwich which is only about 16 miles
from Great Yarmouth, which is one of the worst affected towns at the
moment. About a month ago I was actually staying in a small hotel in
Great Yarmouth just yards from the sea front. Norfolk is a very flat
county and the east coast is vulnerable to tidal flooding. In 1953
there was a devastating flood following a similar tidal surge.

This week I'm in Livingston near Edinburgh in Scotland. I was
expecting to experience gales yesterday but though it has been a
little windy the storm force winds feeding the surge were even further
north. The Thames barrier has been raised to protect London from the
tidal surge and I'm due to fly back there tonight. So far the weather
today in Edinburgh has been mild.
