Which bible?
The King James Bible?
The Luther Bible?
The Old Testament?
The bible is merely various people interpreted what they _THOUGHT_ the
word of G-D is.
Oh, I don't argue that the various versions of the bible portray some
historical events ... but I would venture to say that *MOST* of the
stories in the bible are just that ... stories. Additionally, people's
perception of the world way back then are radically different than they
would be now ... things that appeared to be divine interventions can now
be explained scientifically.
and neither the Koran nor the Talmud nor the nearly-occult Kaballa,
nor the Baghavad-Gita, nor any of Buddha's pronouncements, nor the
Dalai Lama's, ever come close.
Don't compare Apples to Oranges ... the The Talmud is a record of
rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, customs, and
history. It's more of a text book than a holy book (at least this is
what I remember from Sunday school and my Bar-Mitzvah tutor).
Even the "science" that anti-creationists claim beats it out, falls
flat and splat, as they have to constantly change their stories.
Odd ... my own research (albeit done many years ago) showed that the
creationists were the ones that had to keep changing their stories ...
the science behind evolution remained pretty constant.
Comparing it to the facts, history, and the way the world actually
works, it takes more blind faith to reject the Bible than to believe
it. It takes tooth fairy faith to deny it.
