Hi Buck - I don't dive, but I can point you to some places where there
have been alleged sightings. There are also numerous shipwrecks that
are popular dive spots. Shelburne Bay, St. Albans Bay, just off Judge
Island, and the most recent sighting I had heard of was by two fishermen
off Port Kent, NY. I was out fishing last summer with my brother-in-law
in the Inland Sea (east of Grand Isle, VT) when a large sturgeon came to
the surface about 20 feet from the boat. I could see how these fish
might look like monsters to some people, especially after a long day in
the sun spent fishing and depleting the cooler of it's contents.

I'm not a Republican. I think I hear Champ calling you.
Hey Terry, lemme know if you're going out to look for him... I have a
drysuit and would love to dive Lake Champlain when the crazy tourists
are off it. :-) Would love to see Champ for myself :-)

(For those not in on the joke, Champ is a Loch Ness-style beast said
to inhabit Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain sits on the border between
Northern NY and Vermont. It's deep dark and cold.)
