From all the studies it was NOT worth the cost and even the people there
questioned it (?)

AFAIK, a decent bridge there is a good idea. Whether it ought to
cost so much is a separate question.
As things are right now, a bridge would serve a small community.
However, the presence of a bridge implies ease of access. With the
space and resources that the bridge would suddenly make easily
available, effectively an entire new State could be created. It's
hard to remember how _big_ even the islands of SE Alaska actually are.
How much is "accessibility" worth when natural resources are added
in? It's not always as easy as "It only serves 100 people."
I still haven't determined how to decide if the proposed cost is
worth the probable benefits.
