Re: Fun at summer camp

It's not down the tube, Booth. Jason noticed what Mark and his wife did for
him, and because of Mark's reports, the world thinks more highly of him than
before. Plus, a whole lot of people have now added Jason to their prayers.

How is the girl doing, Mark? Has she had good experiences?

My heart goes out to to you and your wife. So much caring, energy, and
commitment down the tube.
For what its worth, you have my admiration and best wishes.

Jason "walked" away a week ago Tuesday (July 31). He rode into town with
me, was going to local AA/NA club for a meeting or 2, then to his
aftercare
counselling, then was "supposed" to meet me back at the club at 4 pm for a
meeting, then we were going to Cincy State to get him setup in the Adult
Literacy/GED program.

He never showed and haven't heard a word from him. I put word out on the
"street" and nobody has seen/heard from him or if they have aren't telling
me (but I doubt "All" of the people I have the word out to would do that).

I think he probably left town. <another long story too long and prob not
even relevant or of interest>

Ah, those were the days, weren't they? I miss football. Even as tough as
those workouts and practices were, they seem easy compared to hitting the
gym every day at 5:15 AM.

On the plus side, hitting the gym in the AM and doing yard work out in
the
heat has let me lose almost 20 pounds in the last month. My wife is
starting
to call me "Stud" again.

BTW, how is your friend Jason doing?

My step son had his high school football camp (in which they were "locked
down" at the high school from Wed morning till after intra squad
scrimmage
Saturday). Because of the "extreme heat" they practiced in full pads
from
8
a.m. till 11 a.m. then went inside for "naps", weights, film, etc and
went
back out from 8 pm till 11 pm.

They did a weigh in before the first practice (he was 212) and then
after/before every practice after that. If they lost x% (I think it was
3
or 4) they had to sit out the next practice. They also did a "final"
weigh
in after the intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday. Generally the players
lost
5-10 pounds over the period of the camp. HOWEVER, Ross weighed out at
218,
a "GAIN" of 6 pounds. I think he ate a couple of the freshman!!!!
