And the limits of available time. Consider the sum total of all
published material from the beginning of recorded history to the time
of your death, both on paper and now online. Then consider how much
even a voracious reader can get through in a lifetime. An amazing
amount of filtering has to go on. It cannot be otherwise. Any one
person can only review a tiny fraction of it.
Alan has got himself a different set of filters from the rest of us.
He sees this as some huge conspiracy against the truth. What has
actually happened is that he's wound up in an intellectual dead end,
and can't see it because his filters won't allow it. There isn't a
conspiracy against his world view. There doesn't have to be as it's
simply irrelevant to anyone whose filters are functioning properly.
