I guess you weren't always the new kid in school. The new kid
ALWAYS.GETS.TESTED. It's part of the drill, unless you spent your childhood
in a Montessori program.
I got whacked around the first day of kindergarten by a second grader. When
he came back the next day to have some more fun at my expense, I was ready
with a few tricks my dad taught me that night.

Gerald,
It sounded like he stood up to the "bully" in kindergarten, too. Either
way, it doesn't matter. Who gets in fights in kindergarten?! Back then,
all I did was show up, draw some pictures, play with some toys, listen to a
story, and go home. Ohh... and snack time. That was always good. :)
