It is not their information. The transactions are, but they are not free to
share them with just anyone. They are only allowed to share them with
someone who has interest in the transaction.

I would say they are extending their noses in order to protect themselves.
They don't care about you.
I've had this
conversation with them. My contract with them states that they will
extend me credit within the financial limits and I will repay them
based on the contract. It doesn't say they get to view, approve, deny,
ask about, make comments about or have any other relationship with my
use of their card other than the financial relationship. I've already
threatened lawsuits.
It's surprising to me that you'd have any legal ground to stand on if you
were to sue them. Is there a clause in the contract about fraudulent usage
of the card? It still seems like to me that it is their information and
they can look at it anytime they want to. But I'm not going to argue with
you over it because I don't know.
