Re: Juneteenth celebration gone wrong...

Terry might be remembering a few years ago when a Vermonter was executed in Texas for a crime he quite probably didn't commit; under any circumstances there was no "without a doubt" involved. Vermonters in general were pretty upset about it and that did little to endear Texas to us.

As far as bumper stickers, I haven't seen too many of the type that you describe below.

In fact, in Austin I see a lot of rainbow bumper stickers.
What does that mean?
Do YOU have one?

Steve, No hostility directed toward Texas, per se.

C'mon, you being from Texas know the attitude that is projected by your
state toward every other state in the country. You see in on bumper
stickers all the time. You're state has invited this stereotype. If
it's inaccurate on unseemly, y'all have only yourselves to blame.

No, I don't for a minute think all Texans are to be labeled or
pigeon-holed. There are folks of every stripe in every state. Texas was
as unfairly portrayed in Walker, Texas Ranger as Vermont was in Newhart.

When you say to Paul "Texas is definitely the right place for people like
you" what do you mean?
Are you being derogatory to Paul, Texas, or both?

Why the apparent hostility toward Texas?
Do you believe that all Texans are gun-carrying rednecks, racists, and
ignorant?

I've never met Paul in person, but I believe that I am much like him.
Although separated by a thousand miles, we seem to have much in common, and
I intend to meet up with him soon.

Steve Landess, a proud Texan

Booth, it's taken you this long to reach that conclusion?

Paul, Texas is definitely the right place for people like you. Hope you
stay there.

Don't let Paul see this. He will change his mind and move to
Austin.

I wonder if this result us partly the "brutalization effect" of
the
death penalty that is discussed so often?
