Re: The disarming of America

We have a security team in our community. The state police came to talk about
neighborhood security. They are the only police force that we have. The team
asked them how long would it take for the state police to respond to a crime.
Of course they're triaged and so it would depend on the severity. For a
priority situation the answer was that they would have a car on site anywhere
from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the time of the call and location of
the cars on duty at the time.

In a life threatening situation, that means we have to make the call and then
hold our ground for up to an hour. Without a gun, then fitness, hidden escape
routes, improvised weapons, trained dogs would be our only defense, what else
is there? Screaming will not help, the houses are too far apart.

My dad stays with us sometimes. He stayed home while we went for groceries and
accidentally dialed 911 on our phone once. When we got home from the store the
police from another township called and asked if everything was alright. He
said that someone had called 911 about 1-1/2 hours ago but they couldn't find
our house. When I told him where we were he said the call was routed wrong
through the 911 service.

Even in cities the police response time can be 7 to 20 minutes.

Do the disarming-types think of these things?
