Re: Newt blames mass murder on liberalism

Gosh, Rick, which of your statements do you want us to disregard?

The two statements are not at all mutually exclusive, except to
unthinking persons such as yourself. You act as if there's some sort
of smoking gun here, but you (again) could not be more wrong (as
usual).

Not all educated people go into acedemia, and very few of the most
educated go into teaching.

ever hear of the phrase, "those who don't do, teach"? Other than
maybe medicine - in which case they do both - teach by doing - the
best educated go into the private sector and produce.

Next, are you saying the press are overly educated? no, I don't think
they're any more educated than the next guy. In many cases, they act
as if they couldn't even have passed Ms. Grenier's language arts class
in my son's junior high school.

And we all know how well educated pop culture icons are, and how good
a role model they provide....

So, to recap and clarify for you, the core of liberalism is two fold.
the poor, the uneducated and the downtrodden, and a cadre of elites
who pander to them for votes, promising to "level the playing field"
for them, and punish those evil capitalists.

There are of course a large contingent of honest, hard working middle
class liberals who feel sorry for the first group above, and believe
the second are acting in their best interests. But it is the dynamic
described above that gives liberalism any power at all.
