Re: NBC - business decision to air "manifesto"?

networks self-censor themselves only when they are pressured.

Strictly on the "censor" comment: Note that, while I never said the word
censor in my prior posts, we already have censoring. Nobody seems to mind
that the feds censor porn from the broadcast networks. Is this good or
bad? Assuming this is a good thing, why is it, then, that porn is
censored? And, is not the glorification of a wacked-out killer worthy of
also being censored? Not the news of him, but the glorification, which is
exactly what the networks did for him.

On the matter of whether I censor for myself and my family, well, yes, of
course I do. But do I want another Cho-in-waiting, who perhaps lives in our
city and attends my daughter's school, watching this network glorification
of a mass murderer? Will the video shown on the networks be the tipping
point for someone to take their anger to the next level? I feel very
strongly, without any supporting data in front of me, that it is only a
matter of time before we experience another Cho-inspired killing spree. Cho
himself mentioned the Columbine killers by name.

Is it politically incorrect to ask that we ask the government to censor for
society's sake? Since we can't rely on the MSM to use common decency, what
are our options to protect ourselves from those who are emboldened to carry
out these senseless attacks?
