the difference is that gun control laws, if followed by the law
abiding, prevent the effective defense of life and property. obeying
other laws does not.
Which kind of circles back to the guy who tasered grandma. How does
a "law-abiding" citizen understand when defense of life and property
are imperative and allowed and when the "Authorities" must be called?
I personally lean towards once I say "Get out" and it's not obeyed,
then that's already brought it across the line. Obviously, though,
that's merely a 'leaning'. I can barely imagine the scenarios that
would come out of that as defenses against murder charges.
