Yuri Dolgorukiy launched



The new Russian ballistic missile submarine was launched 15 April.

They continue to feel the need to expend scarce money to maintain a
modern ballistic missile submarine force. The United States is
removing some Ohio-class boats from ballistic service, converting them
to carry Tomahawk cruise missiles instead. The UK is embroiled in a
debate about future strategic nuclear deterrence, although Commons
have voted to continue the Trident program. The French, those sissies
are in the process of swapping in their new Triomphant ballistic
missile submarines which carry longer range missiles than the previous
generation.

And China, of course, is building a fleet of blue water ballistic missile boats.
