Re: Great day for libs

Two items making it a great day for liberals and depressing for me;

1. Iran expands uranium enrichment.
2. Bush visits the wall and wants to push for his "permanent" guest worker pgm.

It would be the socialists who feel that society is best served by
large government influence who want the guest worker program to die
before it begins. Capitalists believe that market forces are the best
arbiter of the economy, and the market has room for millions of
Mexicans. Why would a conservative-ish capitalist like President Bush
want to stuff the government between the labour market and the
businesses that employ it?

I am a liberal, and I believe I can speak for us all when I say that a
rogue state like Iran should not get the bomb. I believe it's a bad
day for humanity. The question is not what the liberals would do --
the liberals aren't in charge of anything. The question is what will
the administration do. If North Korea is any guide, they will do
nothing except have the occasional chat over tea about the nuclear
issue.

It's a bizarre world. Instead of invading a country like North Korea
who poses an actual and demonstrable threat to world peace, this
administration invades an evil but impotent state like Afghanistan as
a reaction to the terror attacks on US soil. And follows that up with
another invasion of another impotent (but evil) state like Iraq.
Meanwhile, they allow Iran to go from theory to practice in making
nuclear weapons.

These are Republican plans, Republican policies and Republican goals
in play. Tell me again why liberals think this is good?
