Re: Son's death drives mother - A year after deadly tornado, woman wants law requiring weather radios in mobile homes.

Chuck, one of the few good things that my congressman, Richard Baker, has tried to do is to allow FEMA to fund "Katrina Cottages" instead of the little travel trailers that are so ubiquitous in South Louisiana right not. Katrina Cottages are modular houses built on-site and offer a better and safer alternative to travel trailers.

Sad story for sure and not meaning to take away from the tradegy but this
paragraph really stuck out for some reason:

"Federal standards require mobile homes to be tied down and inspected when
installed, said Andy Zirkle, a spokesman for the state Department of
Homeland Security. Installation is based on the manufacturer's guidelines,
which vary by company, he said. Federal standards require mobile homes to be

Thank goodness the Department of Homeland Security is looking out for mobile
homes ! <sarcasm>
