[talking about politicians]
The issue is one of remoteness. We deal with
that near to us and rely on others to do the same
in their localities.
To further prove my point (voter apathy), who here besides me has
actually spoken face to face with their local town/city council
member? Or had a chat with the Board of Education? Any elected
official whatsoever?
We accept a level of corruption as being normal,
but we respond to the outrageous. Nixon
would be the example.
