Booth,
I am all too aware of who Jim Jones was.
But don't get me started ....

Perhaps you thought he said "Koolaid, the drunk"?
Now, that would have been name calling, although I'm not sure who
Koolaid
refers to.

what name calling? Drunk the Kool aid? thats not name calling.
It
refers
to following your leader, even in the face of overwhelming
evidence
that he
is wrong. That is what you are doing, isn't it?

Spoken like a true liberal. Refuse to face the facts and start
name
calling. You, sir, are true to your colors.

The French refused to cooperate because they had mega contracts
with
Saddam. The same for the Germans. They were aiding this dictator
in
continuing his reign of terror over the Iraqui people. They were
only
interested in maintaining the status quo because it meant money to
them.
They could careless that 9/11 happened. I wonder what their point
of
view would have been if the Eiffel Tower or the Brandenburg Gate
were
destroyed. Would Al Qaida have been a concern then?

Golly it bothers me to see these distortions. The terrorists
were
in
Afghanistan. When he was tired of waiting for a diplomatic
solution
he
attacked Iraq.
Why? There was no tie between Al Quada and Iraq, except in
Cheney's
head.
Everyone, and I mean everyone, involved agrees to that fact, even
GW
Bush.
Cheney is out there on his own saying there is a connection but he
won't
tell anyone what it is, not even the CIA.
What reason do you say no one but us was looking out for our
interests?
You
mean after GW told the rest of the World we were going to go it
alone?
And
now he's begging them to come back and help?
Gosh, would you help after you'd been dumped on like GW did?
Remember
Freedom Fries 'cuz we hate everything French? We're getting just
what
we
deserve, and thats a good kicking in the pants. Too bad our kids
have
to
die for GW's ego though.

When the perpetrators of these bombings hide in countries that
support
terrorism, it is not a matter of law enforcement. Then it becomes
a
diplomatic matter. Bush pursued the diplomatic solution as far as
was
possible, but when it became clear that the only one looking out
for
our
interests was us, it became a matter for the military.

I would disagree with you here.
Al Queda was responsible for WTC #1 in 1993, The Khobar Towers
bomb
in
Saudi Arabia in 1997, the 1998 Africa embassy bombings, and the
2000
USS Cole attack. Finally, Al Queda was responsible for the 2001
WTC
attack. GWB put the military on them, and now they are finished
as
a
major threat.
One can debate the wisdom of our venture in Iraq (and I am sure we
will <grin>), but it is pretty clear that terrorism is not a law
enforcement problem.
