"First, a question: What is God's purpose and how does that relate to
our lives?
Marvin"
Now, THAT'S A QUESTION!
The fact that God had a definite purpose for all things is clearly
revealed in His Word. It is an all-inclusive and glorious purpose worthy
of a loving, wise, righteous and all-powerful God. To answer your
question, what is God's purpose for us individually, we need to first come
to understand God's purpose for everyone.
In I Corinthians 15:24, 28 The Bible says that once Jesus Christ finished
all the work God gave Christ to do, then all will be turned over to the
Father so God can be all and in all. Very clearly Paul states God's
purpose is to reproduce Himself. God cannot give any greater gift than to
give everything He is. All that God is and has he wants to give to
humanity to share in His total joy with us.
Now, what do we do as individuals as far as our part? In Acts 1:8 Christ
said we are to be witness of him. Our part is to live like Jesus, be like
Him, act like Him and talk like Him. Just as the Father and Son are one,
we are to be one with Christ.
Finally, how do we know if we are like Jesus? Here is what Christ said: "A
new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved
you, that ye also love one to another. By this shall all men know that ye
are my disciples, if ye love one another." (John 13:34-35).
