An example of this is polygamy. Westerners generally disapprove, but
other human (as opposed to animal) cultures feel that multiple wives
is a natural state of affairs. The Bible itself is ambiguous on this
point. Jesus never married; I think Genesis 4:19 is the first many
mentions of multiple wives and Abram took a concubine (Hagar) in
addition to, and at the behest of his wife (Genesis 16.)
