Re: Vitriol and ad-hominem

Paul,

What they're not talking about is that a lot of felons legally banned from voting did vote than were barred.

The ACLU sued to stall the Gray Davis recall vote till they got the evoting machines put in. In a few months they'll join the suits to throw out election results based on evoting machines.

They didn't raise a peep when a judge here in S. Florida three out totality of absentee ballots in the mayoralty election for Miami (that's right, he nullified them by decree). The winner of that vote, Xavier Suarez, had already executed mayor's duties for several months. The judge's decision /changed the election results/ from him to Carrollo.

His reasoning was that too many were fraudulent votes. Heck, how many of those could you dredge up in about any precinct in America? The local press hated him. ('Course "local press" means a national chain).

I think Xavier Suarez angered the "it's not a baby" crowd and his own Democratic Party because the first thing he did as mayor (in a term before) was proclaim a "Respect Life" day. Nobody anywhere protested this decision except a whole bunch of people in Miami.

Anybody notice that the ACLU is working to change the law to permit ex-convicts to vote in Florida? I'm not commenting, but the first thought that crossed my mind was the 2000 election and all the fun they had there then.....
