RE: Good new, bad news about Hewlett-Packard and American Workers...

Mark,

please give an example from history to demonstrate your position.

The truth remains that when we workers get done complaining we jump in our
foreign made car and drive to Wal-Mart to buy the foreign made clothes from
minimum wage clerks, and stop for a fast food meal served to us by minimum
wage workers. All we care about when we are buying is cheapest.

The Industrial Revolution tells us what will happen. Who was the American
Hero we learned about in Elementary School that stole the plans for the
textile machines from England and brought the technology to America? We
were taught to revere him. Will it be any different in China 100 years from
now?

-->subjects such as science and math. The report says, quote,
-->"Americans who
-->think that foreign workers are no match for U.S. workers in
-->knowledge,
-->skills and creativity are mistaken."

So what! The backlash will come.
No one cares what those pro-cheap-labor reports say except CEO's

We are talking about core survival now.
The gloves are off and will stay off.

A side note:

---IMAGINE---
You are the US president.

Even though you have won a war, you are not popular and it's re-election
time.
Most of your program initiatives are perceived as "loot taking" (which is
true) and helping the rich get richer.
Your booboo's on TV about under qualified Americans causing the current job
exodus will never be forgotten.
What can you do to ensure re-election?
Foster an initiative on a program where there is no way to measure it, an
emotionally positive nationally embraced common theme between all.
Foster an initiative that is hard to find fault with.
Foster an initiative that is easy to get support for, hard to cut down, and
distracting from your core weaknesses.

Pay the media to minimize talk of "initiative costs" and maximize tube-time
for "good presidential talk & kudus" for such a bold initiative since the
days of president XXXX

Schedule the release of such an initiative to boost you into re-election.

What could this possibly be? Is there such a topic to sway the American
heart?
To take the weary concern away from hardworking voting Americans?

I got it!
How about a job creating-spending spree to build a base on the moon.

After re-election, it will be easy to list 100's of reasons to cancel.
