IFS: Removing blanks from ASCII, comma delimited text file

   <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html;    charset=ISO-8859-1">

   I'm copying an AS/400 library file to = the IFS, as part of the process I
   convert the file to a comma = delimited, PCASII, text file.  The file is
   then FTP'ed to remote = systems.  Is there a process, procedure, utility,
   software package = etc to remove right-hand blanks from character fields?
   The = problem is 40-byte character field used to store account    
descriptions.  Most of the account descriptions are 10-12 bytes so = for
   each record I'm sending 25-30 blank characters.
