Use the API QWCRSVAL to retrieve the date from the system value to reload
your date. You will also need to retrieve the value for the QUTCOFFSET to
make sure you are set correctly.

Perhaps I'm oversimplifying, but can't you just accept the system date 
every time you loop through the program?
