And remember that WAITFILE & WAITRCD parameters of command CHGPF states how
much time OS/400 will wait before sending "lock record" message to your
program.

Oggetto: Forcing a record lock

Hi All,

I need to force a record lock on a particular record in order to simulate
a problem. I'm trying to fix an issue where a program abends because a
record is locked. However, in our system, the program does not abend and
the file that is supposedly locked has a shared lock. I need to be able
to lock the record for a significant amount of time (about 60 seconds) in
order to cause the abend. What are the different ways I can do this?

Thanks,
Regina Rafols
