Good question.  I don't know for sure.  

I peeked at the include file and looks like they link to a system program
(linkage) so I have to assume they throw exceptions in case of errors.

It would be nice to find a list of exceptions it can throw, but it doesn't
look like IBM lists those out.

I know I can call CHGDTAARA using system("QSYS/CHGDTAARA ...") but it does
not seem very flexible.
