Hi Patty,

We have this situation ~we are on 4.05 CD and in the process of converting to LX 8.3.4...

In most cases, ours is where the whses are in the same facility; we then handle these as internal operations and created a custom program to generate the shipping labels, BOLs, and ship doc.

We do have one situation where the whses are not in the same facility. In this case, we created a logical/duplicate work center; although this is a nuisance because the planner has to manage two work centers for the same operation...

Subject: [BPCS-L] Bom Setup with intercompany process

I have a need to set up a BOM that has a PROCESS (as opposed to a part#) done at another warehouse within the company. I realize I could use a Transfer in the BOM, but that requires a part#. We are trying to get away from creating new part #s unnecessarily.
If I use outside processing, It requires a part# again, and also a lot of processes.

Does anyone know a way to create a intercompany PROCESS without creating a part#?

Thank You,
Patty
