I'm not receiving the security violation (although I have seen it in the
past).

We wrote our own Barcode application. My guess is code was copied that is
causing these two users to be added to the licensing even though they don't
exist in the BPCS security file(ZSC). Does the sys664 program keep users
from being added to the license?

I thought it was the SYS900 program that adds users to the license. I had
removed all calls to the SYS900 program in the barcode programs and yet they
are still being added to the license. There may be a call to another
program that calls SYS900. I guess I was looking for verification that
SYS900 was the culprit as well as any other possible programs to make sure I
remove all calls to those programs as they shouldn't be needed in this
application.

In order to run a BPCS program outside of the BPCS environment, do the
following:
1. Ensure the library list includes all the required libraries 2. call
sys664 ('sys664')
This will set up the *LDA to prevent security violation issues.
3. Proceed on with the rest of the job.

subject: [BPCS-L] BPCS security issue

Hello,
We are running BPCS 4.05CD (lots of modifications/home grown
programs) on the system I using V6R1. We are using the updated BPCS
licensing process. I have two users that are being added to the BPCS
license even though they do not exist in the original BPCS security file
ZSC. These two users use the home grown programs and don't need access to
the BPCS system. I have a feeling that someone copied code from a BPCS
program to one of our home grown programs which is causing the users to be
added to the new licensing process. Can someone tell me what program adds
users to the new licensing program so I can remove the calls to those
programs from our homegrown processes?

Thanks,

Jeff Elam
