Thanks to all who replied. I posted this here because we had been
hearing some noise about there being differences in the way the two
solutions worked that were specific to BPCS.

thx

Subject: Re: [BPCS-L] Itera HA vs MIMIX HA

You might get a wider response on the Midrange-L list.

We use Mimix HA Lite.

Numerous people switched from the original Mimix to Itera. Mainly
because
of the maintenance fees. Mimix HA Lite countered that. The addition
of
remote journalling opened up options for HA solutions.

We test a Mimix HA Lite switch every other month and run on our backup
machine over the weekend. There is some manufacturing going on in
numerous plants during the weekend. Users notice a disruption when we
do
the switch Friday night and Sunday night but no complaints.

My only complaint (and for reasons I have to keep this brief) is that
Mimix HA Lite wasn't officially supported on announce date of 7.1 of i.
In
times past, they would have been. Then again, I do not know if Itera
was
either.

You can also go to http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l and search for

mimix and itera for more information.
